Ovarian cysts
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop on or inside the ovaries. Most ovarian cysts are harmless and disappear on their own, but some can cause complications like pain, bloating, or hormonal imbalances.
Causes of Ovarian Cysts:
- Functional Cysts (Most Common & Harmless): Follicular Cyst – Forms when an egg doesn’t release properly. Corpus Luteum Cyst – Forms when the follicle sac doesn’t dissolve after releasing the egg.
- Pathological Cysts (Need Medical Attention): Dermoid Cysts – Contains tissues like hair, skin, or fat. Endometriomas – Caused by endometriosis (abnormal tissue growth).
Symptoms of Ovarian Cysts:
- Pelvic pain (dull or sharp, on one side).
- Bloating or fullness in the abdomen.
- Irregular menstrual cycles.
- Pain during intercourse.
- Frequent urge to urinate.
